Because when I lived and worked with Indigenous communities in Arnhem Land NT for many years it was clear that the original custodians of the land understand the land intimately. They also took their responsibility of being custodians very seriously, as part of their very being. If we want country to survive we need to employ all the skills and knowledge of the Indigenous people who live in and on the country. It's the only way to go reall5. To do otherwise is very backward and wrong headed.
