Indigenous rangers are protecting nature and transforming lives in the Northern Territory. Call on politicians to invest in success!

Sign the petition calling on NT politicians to grow and secure Indigenous ranger jobs

From the shores of Arnhem Land to the deserts of Central Australia, Indigenous rangers are protecting nature and transforming lives in the Northern Territory.

Northern Territorians are in a powerful position to push for more funding for Indigenous rangers because:

    1. Indigenous rangers in the NT are nationwide leaders in demonstrating the success of Indigenous land and sea management programs; and
    2. The NT has marginal seats and heavily engaged Senators (Indigenous Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion and Senator Nova Peris).

Indigenous ranger programs and Indigenous Protected Areas provide jobs, wellbeing and leadership in communities where they’re needed most. Rangers fight fires, ferals and weeds, clean up our coastlines, and maintain cultural and tourism sites. Around the Territory they are helping to bring threatened native animals back from the brink of extinction.

But the future of Indigenous ranger jobs is not secure, and the need for more Indigenous land and sea management far exceeds the resources.

Your voice as a Northern Territorian is incredibly powerful.

Sign this petition to tell your local member - Natasha Griggs or Warren Snowdon - that Indigenous ranger programs are of great value to our country and should be secured and grown.

We will only use your details to send this email to your local member, Minister Nigel Scullion and Prime Minister Nigel Scullion, and to forward you other Country Needs People campaign related material. Your details will not be passed on to any third party entities.
