Country Needs People
For thousands of years
pristine rivers have flowed,
unique bushland has grown
and distinctive animals have flourished
under the management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Now, through inherited responsibility, spiritual connection, recognition by science and government
and hard work
the Australian landscape is being managed by Indigenous rangers
protecting endangered animals
cleaning up our coastline
limiting destructive wildfires
tackling weeds and feral animals
But Indigenous Protected Area and Indigenous ranger funding is limited, and the programs do not have the long term security needed to secure the best results.
