Indigenous rangers are protecting nature and transforming lives.
Indigenous ranger programs and Indigenous Protected Areas provide jobs, wellbeing and leadership in communities where they’re needed most.
Rangers fight fires, ferals and weeds, clean up our coastlines, and maintain cultural and tourism sites. Around the country they are helping to bring threatened native animals back from the brink of extinction.
But the future of Indigenous ranger programs is not secure, and the need for more land and sea management far exceeds the resources.
Add your voice to tell the decision makers that Indigenous ranger programs are of great value to our country and should be secured and grown.
Dear Indigenous Affairs Minister Scullion and <your local MP's name will be automatically included>,
Indigenous ranger programs and Indigenous Protected Areas are working. They’re working for the environment, and they’re working for communities.
I recognise the value of work of Indigenous rangers and you should too by calling on the Prime Minister to double funding for Indigenous rangers and IPAs, secure long term contracts and set a long term target of 5000 Indigenous land and sea management jobs.
Yours sincerely,
