IPAs cared for by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander custodians and rangers are an essential part of passing on and using Indigenous knowledge in looking after Country.This is vital in protecting biodiversity and heritage and reducing harm from climate impacts but contributing to effective Aboriginal voices in governance towards self determination.
