Country Needs People - Supporter Voices

I am so grateful to have grown up in Australia. My Grandparents came from Germany after the devastating second world war. After they were released from an internment camp they lived briefly- with my then 5 year old Mum- at Redhead Beach in Newcastle NSW in a caravan. My Mum still talks with great love of the places she played in the lagoons and the salt bush of the coast. Have always lived coastal myself but the deserts and rain-forests have often called to me too and I am thankful for the beauty and to the First People of this country, keeping country healthy and vital in the face of European settlement. I thank the Rangers and the custodians of this land! They bring connection, great knowledge and love to their roles.

Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit organisation born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners around the country.

We pay our respects to all the First Nations people around Australia and their unbroken commitment to keep Country strong on land and sea. We acknowledge Indigenous partners, Traditional Owners, Elders past, present and emerging and extend our appreciation of their support and guidance of our daily work.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND.
