Country Needs People - Supporter Voices

Growing up in a remote community I saw Aboriginal police trackers become policemen, nurses' aides becoming nurses, teachers' aides becoming teachers but most of all I saw the love of the community for the land, the pride taken in handing down knowledge of hunting, fishing, tracking and how to look after the country we lived in. I met aboriginal rangers and could see what the job meant to them. It was great for us to hear what had been handed down over centuries, knowledge of the land and our place in it.

Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit organisation born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners around the country.

We pay our respects to all the First Nations people around Australia and their unbroken commitment to keep Country strong on land and sea. We acknowledge Indigenous partners, Traditional Owners, Elders past, present and emerging and extend our appreciation of their support and guidance of our daily work.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND.
