Before the last election, the now Treasurer and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Minister Jackie Trad made this promise:
“A re-elected Labor Government will continue to support this special program and look for ways to build upon its successes to date.”
Now we need your help to make sure the political parties support more jobs for Indigenous rangers.
When you sign the petition, a message will be sent to key politicians calling on them to match their words with actions by committing to grow the number of Indigenous ranger jobs.
Dear Environment Minister, Treasurer and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Minister,
CC: Local MP, Premier
Your government now has a chance to deliver environmental, economic and social benefits for every Queenslander through more support for the Indigenous ranger program.
Before the election, representatives from Labor said:
“A re-elected Labor Government will continue to support this special program and look for ways to build upon its successes to date.”
Ahead of next year's Budget, please tell me what your Government will do to match these words with specific commitments to grow Indigenous ranger jobs and ensure strong operational support. This is a great opportunity for people and nature in our state, and will create jobs for Queenslanders where they are needed most.
Yours sincerely,
