Country Needs People work alongside a growing network of over 50 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partner organisations, from Indigenous land and sea management organisations, to Indigenous Ranger Teams, to Local Aboriginal Land Councils and Aboriginal and Torres Strait organisations.
In today's Partner Spotlight, we focus on Mimal Land Management.
Who are Mimal Land Management?
Mimal Land Management are the organisation that cares for the Country of Dalabon, Remarrnga and Mayiu Peoples. They look after 1.65M ha of Country in and around their Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) in Central Arnhem Land in NT's Tropical Top End.

What's Mimal Country like?
Mimal Country is a diverse array of ecosystems, from grassy plains to swamp and rock Country, woodlands and freshwater wetlands.

What’s Mimal Land Management's key focus?
One of their main tasks include the critical Central Arnhem Land Fire Abatement (CALFA) project. They also focus on weed and feral animal management, learning on Country, and look after some of Australia’s most extensive rock art sites.
