Every Indigenous land and sea management organisation has its own plans and priorities, using the knowledge of Elders and Traditional Owners to work out what's best to build and maintain the health of their Country.

Outcomes vary from group to group – some projects meet their objectives quickly, while others can take many years to start making a positive impact.

When considered together, the work being done by Indigenous Rangers and others across the entire land mass of Australia is achieving remarkable outcomes in helping maintain healthy landscapes and ecosystems for the benefit of us all. You can learn more about the Indigenous Rangers and Traditional Owners behind some of these stories of success in these feature stories below.

Stories of Success

Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit organisation born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners around the country.

We pay our respects to all the First Nations people around Australia and their unbroken commitment to keep Country strong on land and sea. We acknowledge Indigenous partners, Traditional Owners, Elders past, present and emerging and extend our appreciation of their support and guidance of our daily work.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND.
