Protecting Nature for All of Us: The environmental benefits of IPAs and Indigenous Rangers

Country Needs People

Download

To celebrate the 20th and 10th anniversaries respectively of the creation of the Indigenous Protected Area and the Working on Country Indigenous Ranger programs in 2017, we produced this investigative report in 2018. The document highlights key findings and portraits of Indigenous Ranger work across Australia -  from traditional fire management to control of feral animals and invasive weeds, protection of threatened species and more.

Discover the impressive impact of Indigenous Rangers protecting Country for the benefit of all Australians in our Protecting Nature for All of Us report.

Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit organisation born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners around the country.

We pay our respects to all the First Nations people around Australia and their unbroken commitment to keep Country strong on land and sea. We acknowledge Indigenous partners, Traditional Owners, Elders past, present and emerging and extend our appreciation of their support and guidance of our daily work.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND.
