QLD Rangers Accordion
What's the Story?
The Queensland Indigenous Land & Sea Ranger Program has been hugely successful. The program has provided real jobs in community with 17 years of cross-party government support. It’s not only delivering real and tangible outcomes for First Nations peoples, it's protecting the environment for all Queenslanders into the future.
But now we need your support to ensure all parties remain committed to securing and strengthening the Queensland Indigenous Ranger program.
Sign the petition to call on all QLD pollies to publicly commit before the October 2024 election to secure and strengthen support for Indigenous Rangers.
Why support Indigenous Rangers?

The Queensland Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program is an Aussie success story benefitting every Queenslander. It’s critical that whatever the outcome of this election the Queensland Indigenous Ranger program has cross-partisan support and is secured, strengthened and supported into the future.
THIS IS THE MESSAGE THAT WILL BE SENT WHEN YOU PRESS 'SEND NOW'
As a proud Queenslander and resident in your electorate who loves our great natural environment and the people who make it what it is, I want to see direct investment in practical things that benefit nature and people. For almost 20 years, Queensland’s Indigenous Ranger program has provided highly valued jobs for Indigenous Queenslanders to protect and manage Country. Their work benefits every Queenslander, so it’s critical that this hugely successful program is strengthened and continued into the future.
Our natural environment faces many increasing pressures, and we want to see greater efforts to protect the precious natural and cultural values of Queensland. Who better to do that than the Traditional Owners of those places.
Queensland’s Indigenous Ranger program is recognised as world leading and has been a fantastic success story for our state, so I want to know what you will do to ensure Rangers can continue looking after Country and culture for every Queenslander.
We need to hear - before the 2024 Queensland Election - whether there will be ongoing support for Indigenous Rangers over the next term of government.
Indigenous Rangers are on the frontline of Queensland’s biggest challenges – they’re safeguarding threatened species, managing damaging wildfires, fighting invasive species and assisting on the ground with disasters and state emergencies.
Indigenous Ranger work provides meaningful and valued local jobs in regional and remote communities where they are badly needed.
If we want to create positive opportunities for youth throughout Queensland, we have to invest in our local people, and you can’t get more local than Indigenous Rangers living and working in their own communities.
Please tell me your plan to secure, strengthen, and support Queensland Indigenous Land and Sea Rangers into the future. This will be very important to me as I consider my vote.
