Why support Indigenous Rangers?

Answer

From the Great Barrier Reef to Lake Eyre Basin, across millions of hectares of remote environment, Indigenous Rangers keep nature, culture and people strong.

The Queensland Indigenous Ranger program is creating local jobs that people are proud to do. Right across the state, in some of the toughest and remote places, Indigenous Rangers are managing land and sea Country. They’re safeguarding threatened species, managing fire, fighting invasive pests, and assisting with disasters and state emergencies.

The Queensland Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program is an Aussie success story benefitting every Queenslander. It’s critical that whatever the outcome of this election the Queensland Indigenous Ranger program has cross-partisan support and is secured, strengthened and supported into the future.

Country Needs People is a national not-for-profit organisation born from the support of hundreds of Traditional Owners around the country.

We pay our respects to all the First Nations people around Australia and their unbroken commitment to keep Country strong on land and sea. We acknowledge Indigenous partners, Traditional Owners, Elders past, present and emerging and extend our appreciation of their support and guidance of our daily work.

ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND.
